Using Articles in English (a, an, the)

An article is a word which defines a noun as specific or unspecific. Click here for more information on the use of articles in the English language.
Consider the following examples:
- ‘Would you like a cup of coffee?’ We use ‘a/an’ to talk about an unspecified item.
- ‘The coffee at the meeting was really cold.’ We use ‘the’ to talk about a specific item or items.
- ‘I love coffee. It’s my favorite drink.’ We don’t use any article to talk about things in general.
